01 What the schematic builds

The upstream deploy path, phase by phase.

  1. P0

    Host prep

    Docker Engine, Compose v2, disk for Postgres, firewall with no public relay port.

  2. P2

    Bootstrap

    Deploy root, .env at mode 600, generated secrets, bundled postgresql.conf.

  3. P4

    Start the stack

    Postgres and Redis healthy, migrations run, then the relay on a pinned GHCR image.

  4. P5

    Verify

    relay-verify.sh checks NIP-11, /healthz, /readyz and the loopback-only bind.

  5. P7

    Expose

    wss:// through Caddy, nginx, Cloudflare Tunnel or a tailnet, never 0.0.0.0.
